How did the name Kooba Kids come about?
We brainstormed for a very long time over the name of our business. We wanted something with meaning but that also enabled us to expand our product range. We toyed with initials, words and finally landed on the word ‘Cuba’ wich means goddess of infants. Cuba is a Roman Goddess of Children. She protects them and watches over them while they sleep to ensure they are safe.
We didn’t want to be associated with the country Cuba so we tweaked the spelling and came up with Kooba Kids.
Why should I buy from Kooba Kids and not a big brand?
Kooba Kids is a boutique small business. We are passionate about our vision, mission, products and customers. Behind everything we do (whether that be website design, tagging products or packing orders) is me (mum of 3 and the founder of this small business).
We care about our customers, every sale means something, every customer we help and mini wearing our swimsuits bring a smile to our face.

Why did you start Kooba Kids?
When my eldest was a baby I found that there was a huge gap in the baby swimwear market for full coverage swimsuits. When I couldn’t find the products I needed to keep my babies sun safe I decided to design and manufacture the swimsuits myself. I also hated the inconvenience of nappy changing at the beach and could not understand why no swimsuit had been made with this in mind. So the 2 way zip was included in the design to ensure nappy changes were easy for parents and babies with the Kooba Kids Zip-Ease swimsuit. Being the first brand to come up with this swimsuit design I ensured that it could not be copied and IP protected the design. This means that Kooba Kids is the only brand that you will be able to benefit from a full coverage swimsuit with a 2 way zip.

Are your products Australian made?

Our Zip-Ease swimsuits are designed and made in Sydney, Australia which guarantees quality and it also keeps locals employed and in business.
What does UPF50+ mean?
UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor which indicates how much UV radiation (both UVB and UVA) a fabric allows to reach your skin. Currently, UPF50+ is the highest UPF rating there is.
Our Zip-Ease swimsuits are made from UPF50+ material to ensure your minis are protected from the harsh UV rays.
We test all our swimsuits on our own children to ensure that they pass our quality test. Once we are happy that is when you will be able to buy them for your own minis.
What size do I choose? How will I know if the items will fit my child?
Our sizes are generous to allow for multiple years and seasons amongst siblings as well. Please refer to our size guide which gives you an indication and contact us if you need any direction. We understand buying sizes for children online can be difficult. We add the age and size our models are wearing on our social pages if you would like to follow along to give you a better indication.
How do I wash my swimsuit?
Each swimsuit has a Care label attached. In summary: Rinse thoroughly after use, Do not roll up or store when wet, Cold hand wash separately, Do not soak, Do not bleach, Do not dry clean, Do not tumble dry, Do not iron, Dry in shade, Some colours may face in sunlight and chlorinated water.
My size is sold out, will it be restocked?
This is dependent on best sellers and seasonal brand vision. Check in with us and we will let you know if we plan to restock.
Do you have a shop front?
No unfortunately we don’t. Stay tuned though this may soon change.
Can I pick up my order?
Please send us an email if you are local & require your items quickly. We provide free deliver within the Sutherland Shire.
Can I edit or change my order?
If it hasn’t been sent we can make changes, please contact us as quickly as possible.
How quick do you send my order?
We try to dispatch orders daily but please allow up to 2 days for us to get your order out and sometimes longer during peak seasons.
What company do you use to ship parcels?
We use Australia Post for our shipping.
Can I track my items?
Yes, you will receive an email with your tracking shortly after your item has been dispatched.
My order is a gift, will you send a receipt?
All receipts and correspondence are emailed. Please let us know if the order is a gift so that we can personalise the Thank You card within your package.
